The 44th Annual Pell City Marching Festival October 19th, 2024

Registration for 2024 Festival will be opened June 1, 2024

You and your band are invited to the Pell City High School Marching Festival. The Pell City Marching Festival is an excellent opportunity for your band students to display their talents and compare their work with that of other talented bands from Alabama and around the Southeast. Please make plans to attend this year’s festival by completing the online registration (closed) and then mailing in your $100 entry fee to:

(Please make checks payable to PCS Band Boosters). Performance order will be determined by postmark rather than band size so register early! (Regardless of postmark your application will not be considered valid until all materials are received). Depending on the Size of the groups, we could limit the number of bands to the first 20 bands.

Classification

Classification is based on the number of winds and percussion (including front ensemble/pit) Bands may enter a higher classification, but not a lower one. *7th & 8th graders marching count as half.

Judging

Band judging will be Olympic style (drop the lowest and highest score and average middle 3). All awards for band will be based on this system. All sections will be judged on how well they do what they do- regardless of style.

Timing

Groups are expected to prepare a show that is five minutes minimum to 10 minutes maximum.

Awards

All superior ratings will receive trophies (drum majors will receive medals). A Best in Class trophy will be awarded to the highest-scoring Band, Drum Major(s), Majorette, Dance Line, Color Guard, and Percussion in each class. In the auxiliary caption, the group must have at least 3 members in order to be eligible for Best in Class awards. The *Ronnie White Award will be given for the highest music score. The *Dennis Diffee Most Entertaining Award will be awarded by the judge’s choice.

*Ronnie White and Dennis Diffee are both former long-time Band Directors at Pell City High School.

Hospitality Rooms

A hospitality room will be provided for visiting Band Directors in our band hall.
